Large-scale equilibrium and dynamic properties of DNA, and topological properties of circular DNA molecules in particular, is major topic of the lab. There are both theoretical and experimental groups in the lab, and tight complementation between theory and experiment is characteristic feature of our research. There are two major directions of our studies:

1. Equilibrium and dynamic conformational properties of DNA and its sequence dependence. Large part of these studies is related to topological properties of circular DNA molecules.
2. Reaction mechanisms of type II DNA topoisomerases and site-specific recombinases.
